Bisphenols are chemical components that can be found in receipts;in particular, BisphenolA (BPA) is an endocrine disruptor, a substance able to damage health by altering the endocrine balance, it especially hurts the fetus within the uterus and the kids in early childhood. The studies state that BPA has estrogenic effects, it has a big influence on reproductive function, but also on other body functions. BPA, therefore, can alter the development of reproductive, nervous and immune systems. In addition, the increased risk of obesity and breast cancer are side effects too. The EU has banned the use of Bisphenol A in thermal paper since 2020. Normal bisphenol-free paper can cost up to 25% more than paper made with BPA. (See EU regulation)
